Experience

ICT Officer - Infrastructure | The Nairobi Hospital, Nairobi | 2023 - Present

  • Maintain 99%+ uptime across mission-critical infrastructure supporting 2000+ clinical and administrative staff in a 24/7 hospital environment.
  • Executed a zero-downtime upgrade of primary and secondary domain controllers from Windows Server 2012/2016 to 2022, eliminating end-of-support security exposure across the entire Active Directory environment.
  • Implemented Privileged Access Management (PAM) via a hardened jump server, enforcing least-privilege access controls and reducing the hospital's privileged account attack surface.
  • Deployed Windows Deployment Services (WDS) to automate OS provisioning, reducing average workstation deployment time by ~60% and standardising builds across departments.
  • Led a Veeam Backup & Replication consolidation project, reducing the backup infrastructure footprint, shortening backup windows, and improving recovery point objectives (RPOs) for critical clinical systems.
  • Administered Linux (Ubuntu/CentOS/Rocky Linux) and Windows Server environments, maintaining patch compliance and reducing mean time to resolution (MTTR) through proactive monitoring and log analysis.
  • Drove patch management and vulnerability remediation cycles across Windows and Linux servers, closing critical CVEs within defined SLA windows and supporting infrastructure hardening audits.
  • Authored and tested disaster recovery runbooks for production systems, ensuring business continuity compliance within a regulated healthcare environment.

ICT Intern | The Nairobi Hospital, Nairobi | May 2022 – Jul 2022

  • Provided technical support for Linux and Windows workstations, printers, UPS systems, and network devices across hospital departments.
  • Assisted with hardware maintenance, ICT asset inventory, and network troubleshooting under senior administrators.

Projects

Cloud Resume Challenge | Personal Project – AWS 2026 – Present

  • Architected and deployed a serverless cloud resume using AWS S3 + CloudFront for static hosting, with HTTPS enforced via ACM and custom domain routing through Route 53.
  • Built a real-time visitor counter using AWS Lambda (Python), API Gateway, and DynamoDB — demonstrating serverless compute and NoSQL integration end-to-end.
  • Provisioned all infrastructure as code using Terraform, enabling repeatable, version-controlled deployments with zero manual console configuration.
  • Implemented a full CI/CD pipeline with GitHub Actions, automating infrastructure validation and deployment on every code push to the main branch.
